I’ve been buying VIX options to hedge the long positions and so far it has worked pretty well. I don’t have a strategy that I can share, but I’m going to look into it this weekend.
What I’ve noticed is that it seems that each time the VIX goes down to 12 or below, it goes up the following week. There may be something there.

  Very nice…those are kinda tricky to play. Even though they’re listed under VIX they trade based on front month futures movement. That reminds me…looks like approaching backwardation already. Spot higher than front month although back month is still higher so getting into the gray area. Still about a week and a half left in front month.
