So if Russia doesn’t invade by the market open, how does the market react?

Good question. Beats me. I guess, if there’s going to be an invasion, it could happen anytime over the next few days or weeks, so the market may get tired of watching for it. I like to think of the market as a teenager with a short attention span.

Plus, isn’t there some kind of Fed meeting tomorrow too? The uncertainty from that might create even more volatility than Putin. Come to think of it, in many ways Powell is more powerful than Putin. At least as far as the markets are concerned anyway.
