SPX 0-dte 3/6/24

#SPX0dte Sold to Open $SPX 5075/5105-5110/5140 condors for 17.30.

Internet issues delayed me… when I first entered this it was going for 18.00. Very irritating.

This is a touchy day… Market is trending higher, and Powell will testify before Congress starting at 10am. We also have JOLT jobs report coming. Going for 10% only.

I’m looking at a test condor with same center strikes but only 20-point wide wings. It’s going for 13.85, which is only 6.15 in risk. I will watch this, because yesterday’s error made me wonder about reducing max risk even further.

  What brokerage do you use that allows SPX options trading before the RTH bell at 9:30am EST?

    Interactive Brokers. SPX and some other options are available to trade in premarket, except 9:15 to 9:30 ET when trading is halted pending the open. Some other brokerages allow this but you usually need to call them and get permission for your account.

      At 9:33 w SPX @ 5115 Sold IRON CONDOR SPX 100 (Weeklys) 6 MAR 24 5115/5145/5110/5080 CALL/PUT @17.00 LMT
      Set bracket order profit limit @ 10% 15.30, stop limit At 18% 20.05/20.40.
      Trying to follow the rules I am building, dropped the profit target to .075% @ 10:30.
      Out @ 10:34 for $15.75, $125 profit before commissions.
      Now it is a matter of getting comfortable missing the potential profits, not sure I have it in me. 😦

  Regarding the 20-wide…. when my 30-wide hit 2.00 profit the 20-wide was at 1.35. This is a pretty decent performance given it chops off 10 dollars of risk. I will keep an eye on the 20-wide option.

Out for 16.00. Was not comfortable waiting for 10% while Powell is grilled by Congress.
