#SPXah In futures around 6pm ET Sunday there was a quick 20 pt drop, which per my rules eliminated overnight trade potential. A test trade I put on for 17.40 at 9:22pm would have been crushed to the UPSIDE as it went over 22.00 at the 1:25am highs.

  As a side note, the test trade sold for 17.40 last night is now trading for 6.90. My actusl trade sold for 14.70 this morning is now trading for 9.40

    Such a swingy market for this trade. I probably got lucky to be filled at 13.10 LMT order as the market shot up because now I would be a dollar in the hole.

        The recent history of these is that the VAST majority that enter stop territory come back later in the day. I have tracked it and have missed out on tens of thousands of dollars in profit by taking stops.
        
        How much was your limit order that wasn’t filled?

        first, i didn’t get as much premium as I opened later. My stop was at 17.35 with a 17.65 limit, which was not filled. Realized that too late and was chasing. An accumulation of errors, still annoys.
        I had realized the same as you said, so many trades come back into profitability once they hit the stops. That made it even harder to just enter a decisive order to get it closed. Speaking about the profit: instead of 20 i could buy it back for 5.30 now.

      If it’s not one thing, it’s the other. Stopped out of call side of wide condor for 1.80, so -.75 loss. (this happened after the highs but forgot to press “post”)

        I was also compelled, now at the lows of the day, to close the put side for .20. I’ve got the whipsaw blues. Profit for the day +.65
