  BOUGHT to Open 5580/5610-5615/5645 condors for 21.90. IV 36.03%. Placed this at the point I was stopped out of precious trade. It has not occurred in last three weeks that an initial sharp move up or down didn’t move significantly over the rest of the day. I can get a couple bucks here except in the extremely rare chance it consolidates at this level for 6 hours.

    It’s as if I wrote a prescription for the market and it’s being followed. We are actually consolidating and the trade is down by 2 dollars. That triggers a triage stance in my strategy so now I must get out for a loss, or at best breakeven.

      Closed for 22.00… I actually legged out which is very dangerous and I almost always avoid it with this kind of risk. But today was so ridiculously contrarian to what I wrote above when I placed this trade that I felt safe doing it. I’ve rarely seen a better case of consolidation! So the exit was easy…

      Sold call side for 10.60 at 10:16a

    Closed for 14.50, about 10%. Was definitely temped to push it, but the chances that we break out are pretty high. I also realized that I probably should have sold double when I legged out of the first trade. I then would have been in this trade for 22.00 credit and would have just made a 7.50 profit.
