SPX 0-dte trades for 7/29/25

#SPX0dte Sold to Open $SPX July 29th 6345/6365-6435/6455 condors for 1.10, IV 13.20%, IB deltas -.09 +.06

Sold 6370/6400-6405/6430 condor for 10.80, IV 12.92%. Unbalanced to avoid overlapping strikes, but also making the call side narrower balances upside/downside risk a bit better.

      Ok… killing myself with these low centered trades. Tail limit hit again for 11.70.

Today was the first test of my new stop policy, which is short strike breach. My short put is 6365 and the low was 6367. Premium peaked at about 5.00. But it has since bounced, and this is exactly the reason I changed policy. In this market, intraday dips that are deep usually bounce back. I have to leave my desk early today so will be closing this as cheaply as I can.

For reference, had I closed at my previous stop level, the expected move, it would have been relatively cheap, only around 1.70.

  Missed the chance for a .40 exit at midday peaks and then had to deal with afternoon volatility…. because I left the house I got hit by a trail limit stop, closing puts for 1.45. After that, SPX did breach my short strike before the close.
  
  This is the fourth week in a row where Monday & Tuesday have been negative for me.
