How do you decide to do a straight roll (even if ITM) vs. a roll down to ATM?

  In this case it was pure greed. 🙂 🙂 Beyond that mostly just gut feeling. Tastytrade always says volitility is overstated and in most cases that’s correct so I don’t mind rolling the dice sometimes. Just hoping all the stuff coming out tomorrow balances out to unchanged.
  
  Another possible gubment shutdown looming and Q4 earnings starting up so might have more nice premium on the way or at least better roll downs if needed. I’m not seeing anything that could cause the “Fred Sanford I’m Coming Home Elizabeth” big one but who knows. 🙂
  
  I’m leaving 3 of 15 uncovered right now and I might increase that to 4 or 5 for awhile depending on how tomorrow goes.
