SPY/XSP trades 1/12/26

Rolled $SPX Jan 12th 692 put to Jan 13th 692 put for .90

Opened my second $XSP LEAP spread (replacing SPY spread closed on Friday).
Dec 2028 690/690/730 spread for 37.60
Sold against it TODAY’s 694 put for .77

I could have sold tomorrow’s 694 for almost twice the price, so it may be futile to sell same day then roll later, but kind of testing that out.

Now I have 2 positions on each of SPY and XSP. I have one short put on each that are not rolled yet.
I will wait to close another SPY on a down day. I’m fine for now with two of each as assignment risk is lower than before.

My little experiment on the same day 674 put has produced results: I sold it for .77 but could have sold tomorrow’s for 1.40-1.45 at the same moment this morning. Now, with 1:15 left in the day, I closed today’s for .01 and can sell tomorrow’s for .45-.49.

So it would have been better to sell tomorrow’s and not bother with same day. I’d assume a similar result would be true if we had a down day, where if ITM the roll to tomorrow’s would add around the same .45.

Bought another 690/690/730 spread for $XSP 12/15/2028 for 36.40 (over a dollar less than this morning’s)
Sold (2) $XSP Jan 13th 696 puts for .81

Also: closed $SPY Jan 12th 689 and XSP Jan 12th 694 for .01 each
Allowing XSP Jan 12th 692 to expire

Now have 3 XSP and 2 SPY LEAP spreads; leaving one of each without a short daily put. Need to dump a SPY spread tomorrow, hopefully will get a pullback.
