Breaking up with ZSL…for now
Closing my last position in ZSL and now I am ZSL free. It was good for a while but the relationship lost its excitement so I gotta move on. NUGT has been where the action is. Maybe you’ll be back one day, ZSL, and we can talk about spending some more time together, even with your high carrying cost and all.

Currently holding April 30/105 unbalanced (1/2) strangles. Since I’m also long DUST and short other calls and call spreads on NUGT I feel it’s worth the risk to tighten up my put side.
Rolled NUGT April 30 put up to 50 for 2.20 credit. Total premium on the strangle is now 5.20 so put side breakeven is just below where the 50ma will be at expiration…not that that will matter if this thing starts tanking!

Was up to $70 earlier, but the option premiums for the $100/$105 calls even out a month really didn’t jump much so didn’t offer a great opportunity to sell hard.

BIB…re-post
Just wanted to repeat what Jeff posted the other night in case anyone missed it. I was mistaken…BIB is hurt slightly by an overall downward bias over the long term even though it’s historical performance is pretty nice. Being careful here and will probably get our of my covered stock position while it’s only down a little. This could be a good place to use the old Fitzpatrick 1 percent rule. Get out and wait…if the stock recovers to 1 percent above where you sold it start scaling back in with a tight stop.

Check out $BIS… inverse of BIB. They are both “Ultra”, 2x levered, so they would be subject to downward pull due to compounding. But Biotech has been generally bullish until recently (see NBI monthly chart) – so the BIB chart had been mostly up.

Hey guy’s, I’m back. Strange story. Went to see the Dr last Tuesday afternoon for a follow up appt. since I wasn’t feeling any better from prior week. Decided that I needed to get a chest X-Ray and some blood work. Well, as it turned out, I had a collapsed lung so the X-Ray folks walked me straight to the ER and was stuck in the hospital with a chest tube until about lunch time today. Had a massive amount of $NUGT puts and calls expire last week that I didn’t get a chance to post.
Great to be home.
I’ve been trying to make some $NUGT trades this afternoon but haven’t had much luck since the bids on the call side are just non-existent. /GC is just collapsing so maybe this is the turn lower.
STO Mar 25 $42 puts @ $1.05
STO APR 22 $105 calls @ $1.65, made this trade just to add more short exposure in case $NUGT continues to roll over. Highest strike so even if I’m wrong and $NUGT turns around and heads higher, it won’t really hurt me and I’ll add to position at better prices.
