#OT Just popping in to wish everyone a Happy New Year. I hope this crazy market hasn’t drive any of you stark raving mad. I’m still enjoying my sabbatical though missing the market interactions more and more. If you are into out of this worldly events check out the New Horizons fly by of Ultima Thule. #OT Morning / Afternoon all. I am going to take some time away from active trading. Sort of a sabbatical. Maybe on the order of 3-6 months. Life’s little pleasures have been monopolizing my time of late and I am unfocused. I closed my leaps for a small profit and have a few (4) underwater positions that will need regular maintenance to get back to even. Of course the long term portfolio needs to be managed per usual. I’ll pop in from time to time and be back regularly once I get things caught up. Just to squash the fake news my wife is still here, the farm is intact though the weeds are very happily taking over, I’m not going to jail, and I’m definitely not running for public office. Though the latter two might go together. Jeff this is a gem of a community. I am so honored to be a member. Thank you all. Happy and successful trading. Later Jon

Dan Sheridan of Sheridan Mentoring offers free introductory classes covering many of the trade types that are used by members. These classes are the first session of a 4 to 6 week series of live instructions. Fees are a 300-500 depending on the length. He primarily focuses on index trades, SPX and RUT using calendars, spreads, butterflies, short term 1-3 days to long term 45 day trades. He uses these free intro classes to troll for business. I have taken some of his classes and gained a lot from them. I have no stake in this I just know how I new to this world struggle understanding all the Fizzies and Rockets, and hedges that many other members here place. Getting a working understanding using live trades with Dan has helped me put a lot of things into perspective and gain confidence in my trading the SPX.

#OT @Fuzzball I hope you and all persons in Florida found safe harbor from Irma. My daughter and her beau and pupster bailed on Tallahassee Saturday afternoon getting in here at 2:30 AM Sunday. She showed me pictures of the grad students camped out in their offices at FSU. Things look better. I will hate to see her head back when she goes but it has been a blessing she was able to get here.
