Rolled today’s 70 calls up and out to next week (Mar 11) 76 calls for 1.98 credit

Huge momentum trade going in Gold, like standing in front of a train. Was really hoping this would just calm down for a few day’s after yesterday. Looked like premarket, that might happen but as soon as 8:30 chimed, it was off to the races, just like yesterday.

  Excellent roll. Rolling early like that (before stock has hit your strike) allows you to get very good premium on the roll. It is just a balance between likelihood of NUGT hitting 80 by March 18th vs hitting 90 by April 15th. But regardless, you can roll again if it keeps moving because strikes will be added through 100 and higher.

      LOL…last time Gold was climbing thru 1270 NUGT was at 180. This will be a spectacular fall some day. Sucks now though! Still short June 50/70 Becs. Thinking about rolling the short 50’s out to Jan 2018 90’s and booking the 20 baggers on the 70’s. With those gains I could afford to buy a little stock on next pullback.

        Unfortunately highest 2018 strike is 90. That’s still a 5 buck credit for the roll. I’d rather have higher strikes for a neutral roll…

        Mar 35/80 strangle – rolled 35 puts up to 50 for 1.40 credit adding some deltas
        
        Then:
        
        June 50/70 Becs – Sold to close one 70 call @ 19.50 and rolled short 50 out to Jan 2016 90 for 4.25 credit.
