I have some UVXY put spreads that are in the money. When does the assignment typically happen? I understand that anytime the shorts are in the money, there is always the assignment risk.

  There is always a risk, but it is highest when the time value is at or near zero. Options only a little bit ITM with several days left until expiration will still have time value and are less likely for early assignment.
