VXX Game

The VIX is below 12 again heading for 11.00?

$VIX /VX – I’m looking at both the VIX index and the near month /VX futures

The VIX bottomed at 11.02 in early August and bottomed near it’s current 11.54 price in mid September. The VIX futures showed a low of 12.05 in August and got below 13.05 a couple of times since then.

While I’m not calling the low in volatility, it seems we are close. I may even nibble in some short UVXY puts at 8 and below for the coming weeks. Since I’m short calls in every possible expiration period, the puts are a low risk speculation.
