This question for anyone. How does one trade SVXY, UVXY if day trading?

I may not be the person to answer your question because I don’t day trade the SVXY. I only sell options and collect the premium.That seems like the easiest thing to do with that ETF.

    There are many of the people on this site that sell options just to collect the premium. You must be able to and want to own the stock that you are selling the options on. I would suggest that you follow the posts and analyze the risk and rate of return on the many posts that you can see here.

    What I’m thinking & wondering if it would be a good alternative than day trading the SPX. I was wondering about the relationship of SVXY, UVXY & the YM or ES, or NQ.

      If you want to day trade or do short term trades, go over to Option Market Mentor which I no longer belong to. They do a lot of day and short term trades over there. If you want a nice steady income, you sell options and collect the premium.

        I make a nice steady income from daytrading the YM futures, and I post my charts on occasion here..Selling Premium isnt the only way to make a consistant living trading…

      if you have tos open compare on chart and put each one in in your fav time frame. I understand where your coming from in thought process. one has got to inverse and other follow .

Generally, when the market goes up, SVXY goes up and UVXY goes down, but not always. Generally when the market goes down, UVXY goes up and SVXY goes down, but not always.
I’ve used some spreads on these but UVXY is at $18.00, margin requirements are low for going naked.

Never buy UVXY shares-sell naked OTM calls, easy to roll.

  And if you sell UVXY naked, closely monitor your position size. UVXY can triple or quadruple in a fairly short time. Using a TDA portfolio margin account as a guide (and they’re pretty easy going on the margin) on 2 contracts of UVXY Sep 60 calls the margin would go from 1100 to 4100 on a UVXY move from 19 to 60.
