#ContangoETFs I have traded too many of these to post in last couple days. Had to escape a couple of ITM May 27th puts with losses yesterday morning. Today I closed numerous puts and calls with nice profits. Closed my last ill-fated ITM call, Jan 2017 75 call for 31.00 (sold for 7.70 on Feb 4th). That leaves me with a couple ITM puts but nothing too drastic.
After things calm down and the margin police quit eyeing me, I will start selling more OTM strangles.

NUGT Support/Resistance levels
#ContangoETFs NUGT’s free-fall yesterday, presumably on FOMC minutes, got me thinking if there were s/r levels to hang on before bailing on my short put positions, and remembering that gold has a mind of its own, where is support? The 52 week daily levels are the low on Jan 19 at 17.40, and the high on May 2 at 123.96 a 50% fib retracement between those points is $70.46 NUGT closed at $84.52 about 10 pts above the lower BB and 3 pts above the 50 day ema.
So, I have more questions than answers about NUGT s/r levels but interested in others comments…for sure those with short calls made some bucks today!

Fun at expiration
#ContangoETFs Last week and today I’ve tried something fun in the last five minutes, making a couple hundred or so each week. Sold NUGT 81 puts and 82 calls for .15 and .20 cents from 3:55p to 4p. A little at a time, working the small swings in the stock. Mainly, taking advantage of people likely closing long options before the close to avoid assignment. A bit on the edge, but if I accidentally get assigned I can always buy or sell the stock after the bell to balance out to zero.

Although good profits on these two, I ended up losing overall on KOLD, as I got pressured on margin and had to close at unfortunate highs. I will trade this more conservatively in the future when it pops up again.

Silver at hew highs, ZSL at new lows, lowest since August 2014. No position as the juice got drained out when they split it last November. I won’t be selling puts either. I think ProShares is now regretting making the split. #ContangoETFs

After dumping ZSL completely and scaling back on KOLD, NUGT became my favorite son, but I got a bit too deep in the calls. Plus my broker turned up to 11 the margin pressure on these overnight, so I had to dump four under water calls at losses. #ContangoETFs
Example, BTC Apr 29th 105 call for 3.60 released $7K in margin.
Also BTC Apr 8th 85 call for 5.00
BTC Apr 15th 80 call for 7.50
BTC Apr 29th 100 call for 4.40
Total losses only $1K as these were sold for decent premium. Easy to start building back with puts, which also reduce the margin.

$NUGT holding up better than gold but if gold continues to roll over, $NUGT will follow.
I actually don’t want it crash lower. The longer is stays up like this, the more money we make selling weekly calls with some premium.
