TOS question

When looking at the options chain and selecting Vertical or Iron Condor, etc, how do I change the width of the spread or wings? Thanks.

I don’t know how to change the default, but if in the trade window, you can just click on the strike of the leg you want to move and select any value you want. The other option that I know of is to go sell -> Deep and Wide -> pick from the options -> Iron Condor

The other way to do it is to not use the method of selecting “vertical” or “iron condor” at all. Instead if you hold down the ctrl key while you are clicking on the strikes that you want to include, it will populate each of those into your order.

  Thanks. Yes, I can see how to build an order, but I would like a way to search the chain for 25-point wide vertical spreads and compare their prices, without having to build multiple orders. This is pretty obvious adjustment on other platforms, adjusting the spread width, but I cannot figure it out here.

    after you have selected to buy or sell a put, or call then selected vertical or IC, etc., the order entry tool will pop up from the bottom of the screen with your selection…if you want to change exp date click on the date, white font, a drop down will show with all exp dates, choose another exp date, the next column to the right shows strikes, do the same to get the spreads you want…
    
    If my explanation is too cryptic, probably so, give me a call and I’ll walk you through it…

On the order ticket that pops up change “iron condor” to “custom”. That will allow individual legs to be adjusted…

On the option chain display check out the “deep and wide” selection on the “spread” drop down menu. That may be what you are trying to find.

you can not look at 25 wide just 5,10,15,20.

I will look at 20 to get close and then manually adjust for 25.

on trade tab where it says “spread single” change to vertical this will be 5 wide.
then click on spread again and go down to deep and wide use 1 month one strike and will be 10 the do same for 1 month, 4 strike and vertical and this will be 20 wide.
