VXX long calls

#VXXGame Loading up some longs for next volatility spike. In March, some of these I bought for .30 were sold for over 50.00. Be surprised if that happens again, but at least they can hedge any shorts I sell. Also trying some $UVXY but wasn’t filled yet.

Bought to open $VXX August 85 calls for .50.

Hi Jeff,

1) Are you still playing the VXX game with vix calming down now post-election? option Iceman is doing both put and call side diagonals still and i’m learning

UVXY is trading down to ~15, and VXX down to ~20

2) Also, do you still play call debit spreads same expiry on $vix (which doesn’t depreciate like VXX, UVXY), and unwind the short call

3) Did you use VXX Long Call LEAPs because they were more available farther out than UVXY?
Were these VXX Long Calls setup so that when VIX does spike you could sell VXX calls against them, how wide is your diagonal spread do you write? i..e 85 Calls Long, short weekly Calls after a spike 20-30% otm?

Do you play the Put Side as well and try to enter when vol spike then you buy the LEAP OTM Puts?

  I have been buying cheap far OTM calls as protection for a crash. I haven’t really been playing the VIX products the way I used to.
