VP succession…tongue in cheek (or not)

I’m no political science guy but I think when the Vice-President becomes president he nominates a new VP and then Congress approves.

Kidding aside, if the market has been rallying since the election on hope of Trump’s policies, shouldn’t his impeachment be a good thing for the market, since Pence will likely carry the same goals but without the distractions and tweeting?

My guess is that it would still be tumultuous to go through the process, and the tax reform agenda will certainly be delayed if we go through it.

  I agree. Was just talking to a buddy of mine about that. If Pence were to take over at all time highs we’d probably sell…but if he takes over down around pre-election levels we probably rally again.

  If there is an impeachment it doesn’t mean that POTUS is removed from office-tweeting continues, ha! Nixon was impeached then resigned, Clinton was impeached but finished his term. The inauguration rally was predicated on Rep’s economic development agenda infrastructure/tax reform, etc. can they save it?

    P.S. Nixon resigned before being impeached. Andrew Johnson was impeached in 1868…missed that one, but was around for the other one…trade safely.

Not to spark a political argument but if impeached I don’t think this one is smart enough to resign. At least Nixon saw the writing on the wall and left before being run out………

  I’d like to keep political opinions to a minimum. It may not come down to a matter of smarts… but more of a saving face. Plus, he has already said he misses his former life, and I have heard others say he may resign because he’d prefer to get back to it.
