A WORD TO THE WISE

Yesterday I forgot to check earnings, on MZOR, had a 100 shares and a 65.0 August Put. Well it was down over 10 points this morning. Needless to say, I wasn’t happy the rest of the day. So learn from this, and check EARNINGS DATE on your trades. I know I learned from this, the hard way. Good thing I used risk management, and didn’t have too much.

I keep the earnings date on my spreadsheet along with the trade information. Knowledge does not make a good trader. Control of emotions helps. I had $MZOR puts at $70. I knew earnings date and let it stay open. Same mistake with $EXAS 65 puts. That one was somewhat mitigated by selling my stock before earnings thinking (?) that the puts if exercised would replace the stock I sold. Not expecting $EXAS getting the you know what kicked out of it. It’s only one trade. Keep the good ones coming. All the best.
