Hi jeff:

yeah i agree. Any speculation as to what you think will happen next? I think for, its unnatural to see this much volatility in such a short period of time after the last 2 years or so. Its surprising for me to see such huge swings on a large cap index such as the SPX. I wonder what’s happening behind the scenes. It feels like some big money is moving money around.

    The only theory I have is big players trying to defend or hit a level and some money is starting to flow into bonds as the yield keeps going up. I suspect we will have a 2 sided market, possibly for a few years as the fed unwinds QE, bond yields rise, and binary risk on/off trading occurs.

WTF? I am busy for 2 hours and come back to a 50 point drop in /ES.

Only way to handle a market like this is sell OTM, 30-60 DTE premium and be ready to adjust or roll quickly.

#Volatility – having long been a student of the market, I can tell you that extreme 2-way volatility this close to a major top is usually a prelude to a much bigger drop longer term.
I will be not entering any new orders for #FallingKnife ideas until AFTER a few more days like today pushes the new low list to much higher levels for stable S&P500 dividend payers.
