  To go along with the General, it’s a short put and a short call spread. I’m inexperienced with them. Like anything else, they work great until the stock goes crazy against you, in the case of the jade lizard, it would be a big down move. Check out the general’s link and this one

  I’m new to the concept too, so feedback welcome. I’m thinking of it as a generally neutral to slightly positive play, right? Basically either an IronCondor missing the long put or a short Strangle with upside protection of adding a long call. The width of the Call spread is setup to be less than the overall premium you receive, such that if the underlying takes off and goes above the long put, you don’t lose any/still make some money. There’s risk to the downside, because you’re saving money by not buying the long put protection, but the break-even is offset from the strike price of the put by the premium from the call spread.
