  I own the leaps that expire in 2021 and use less margin by selling a spread in my trading account.

    Okay, do you buy ITM calls close to the strikes you sell?
    I never thought about selling a spread to reduce margin good idea

      Unfortunately I bought when the market was higher. I would wait for the moving averages to turn up and then scale in a position if I had the chance to do it again.
