SteadyOptions Trial

Taking a free 10 day trial here. Been following him awhile on Twitter and seems to do pretty good. Specializes in buying pre-earnings straddles. Maybe I can stumble on to something here that we can use…similar to some Whiz trades that eventually became the #SyntheticStock and #Fuzzy trades here.

Would be fun to have pre, current, and post earnings trades going!

I’ll keep you posted. 10 day trial and then I’ll probably stick around another month with earnings really cranking up….

Scrolling though recent trades…what I’m typically seeing is:

About 2 -3 weeks before earnings buying an at the money straddle for earnings week. And…selling a strangle just outside the straddle strikes in the week before. Usually at 3 buys per 1 sale ratio. Point of the whole exercise I think is to look for increasing IV in earnings week for gains and the sold strangle offsets theta.

Doug Robertson over at Top Gun Options used this strategy all the time (before he was fired). Seems like a tough way to make a buck. 5 to 10 percent gain on the initial debit looks like a good trade. He resets to a 10k account each year and risks no more than 10 percent of that on any trade. Historical returns seem decent. I never had any luck with these when Doug was doing them so maybe this will work better.

Was a member for a while and yes I made some money enough to cover the subs and then some. My only real problem was the other job kept getting in the way and I would either miss the trade alert or end up chasing.
