Market Tide indicator today…

#Scalping -Been in and out today so no trade (fuzzy skeered…LOL) but the indicator seems to be working nicely in the chop.

What I have noticed is that it takes a bar or two to generate the reversal arrow (and sometimes it ghosts). Trying to figure out some rules for entry to be able to set a stop to define my max risk. How does this sound using a “go long” signal?

Look at the low of the bar where the arrow is generated. Try to get an entry within 5 points (or 10 or whatever your risk appetite is) of the low of that bar. If the entry is successful then set a stop 5 points below the low of that bar. Max risk of 10 points for each entry…

  The developer does talk about ways to manage the ghosting arrows. If you take a signal and it disappears, he says the signal is no longer valid and you get out.

    How long after it appears might it ghost? Is it usually within a bar or two, or can it be 5-10 bars later?

      I haven’t watched it closely enough but I think it can be at least a couple bars on my 3 minute chart. Like Mama said…the developer mentions this in the notes. If it ghosts then it was a false signal so just get out. Very good question…

  In the original training, not sure it was recorded as some of us were beta testing it, it uses some fuzzy logic and will ghost in and out depending on who is in charge of volume. My simple filter is an 8 ema and at least 2 bars on upper and 2-4 on lower for confirmation if scalping. If more of a position trade I would also use the 20 sma.

  I’ve had arrows disappear after 4 or 5 bars but when that happens, I’m usually able to get out for flat or a very small loss. I’ve made quite a few trades based on 30-min chart. Only been ghosted out once.:-)

    Also helps to take trades where multiple timeframes are harmonizing, meaning they are in agreement on current directional bias.
